Epidural Injection Time

Today was such a packed day that I’m lying in bed and struggling to make a post because I am tiiiiiired. But if it encourages even one person, I’m here for it.

Woke up at 7am and got my walk in before heading to help my grandmother with some errands. I am LOVING waking up early in the mornings and sleeping at night. My insomnia is improving every day as I become more active and get into a routine. We spent some time together and I came home to do some mental preparation for my epidural injection. I ended up reading too much and watching too much and got myself in a nice little panic before I got there. Cried during admission. I was a mess. But I reminded myself that I am stronger than I think, I’ve proven that to myself time and time again since starting on this program. I calmed myself and took slow and deep breaths through the procedure. I did great! Only minimal pain and no complications.
Then hubby and I went on our date night. Parosmia didn’t allow me to enjoy our typical treat meal, but I did allow myself some carbs for it. I had about a cup and a half of pineapple fried rice, and half a cookie and it was heavenly. I mean, divine. So bittersweet that sweet and salty are all I can taste properly.
I’m home and resting my back. The only side effect I’ve had is that my temperature is slightly elevated and I’m sweating a lot. But hey, maybe I’m burning some fat while I do.
Picture of my strength, and here’s to hoping this epidural does the trick to allow me more mobility and endurance! My goal is to be able to go back to Dollar Tree and walk the entire store on Sunday. Fingers are crossed!! Thanks for the well wishes and prayers, they mean the world to me, as do all of you!
