A Healthy Checkup

Today has been a better day so far, with the nausea and headache. So, let’s get this post in early in case I get attacked tonight! Leggo!
I had to get a super early start today. I knew it would be a busy day, so I had to squeeze all my exercise in by 9am. Up at 5, tend to the dogs, morning routines, out the door at 6. Ate breakfast with my new cheerleaders at my local Dunkin where I get coffee a few days a week. I was already in my swimsuit at 6:15am and they got a kick out of that. They encouraged me though. It isn’t in their job description to be so freaking kind, but they are, and I adore them.
Got to the gym at 7. While in the locker room, my swimsuit decided it had been rode hard and hung up wet too many times and my straps nearly ran off. That’s what the white spots are on my top (and why my boobs are low riding), the fabric is just falling apart now. Guess getting several months out of a $30 suit isn’t too bad though, especially with how much I use it and how much I move in it. It’s been such a major part of my journey, I plan to recycle the shorts and skirt out of it into something else, sentimental creature that I am. But I’m very, very glad a new one will be arriving Friday!
I stopped to take this flex pic because it’s going to make an awesome “before” pic for when I’ve lost enough to show all the muscles I’ve been growing under that blubber layer. I carefully walked out to the pool and got my workout equipment and then tested my top’s stability with a few boob shakes to make sure it wouldn’t snap. It held up, probably mostly because the water was holding my tits up, so I spent the next hour and a half doing my own cardio and strength training before water fitness. Several hundred of jacks, curls, presses, high knees, crunches and leg lifts are just my baseline now. I’m going to have to get some ankle weights to make it harder soon. My friend I made Monday came to class too! I told her I was so proud, and she said she was so inspired by me that she just had to come and then started bragging about me to my grandmother. I actually blushed. Once class started, I did 30 minutes of that and had to jump out and straight to the car.
I had a cardiology appointment this morning to address a lot of chest pain I’ve been having. Since I was running late, I had to hop out of the car at the hospital door and get upstairs while my husband parked the car. I climbed the flight of stairs up and had to stand for 10 minutes to get checked in. A few weeks ago, I would have needed a wheelchair to get up there. But not today, baby. I didn’t even experience any back pain until the walk back after the appointment. What an amazing thing to have done and experienced. It was such a confidence booster.
Thankfully, the checkup went beautifully, and I was diagnosed with costochondritis. Nothing serious, just uncomfortable inflammation in my ribs that should improve over time. Heart is kicking and strong, just like me in the water! While we were in the exam room, I noticed how toned my arms are getting. I had hubby take a pic. I wasn’t kidding when I told y’all I’m making gains in my arms while losing everywhere else.
I talk a lot about what an amazing change I’ve made in 6 weeks, but today I realized just how much change I’ve made in 14 days. Two weeks apart and it’s shocking still. It doesn’t take years to change your life. Even over the last 14 days, I’ve come further than the 4 months I spent trying before E2M. This program helps get your mind ready, and that’s where your obstacle lies. Get the mind right, and the body will follow.
Love y’all! Make tomorrow better than today and put that on repeat.
