Definiiiition

Friday means measurements and comparisons day!! I could barely wait because I had seen a lot of great changes this week. In my measurements, besides my never knowing what the date is and the significant mid-section losses, I am so, so proud of my biceps. I wish I could move all the damn fat out of the way so you could see them. I’ve made serious gains in my arms and abs. That first picture below [poorly] shows how far that definition line goes down now. And uh, you can have my failed attempt at a gym selfie with a doofy face because someone started walking in and I didn’t want them to see me taking a picture.

Falling asleep at 7pm last night meant an early wake up for me. I had to piddle around the house for about an hour longer waiting for daylight to do my walk. I was really stiff this morning (I’m not even going to talk about my neck… lord in heaven, I can’t believe I jacked my neck up so bad from smile flexing) so I decided I’d get to the gym right at 7 when free swim opened so I could loosen up before water fitness. No sooner had I packed my gym bag and my daughter woke up. She wanted her mommy, probably because I passed out so early last night. So, a spontaneous and delightful morning play session went down instead of early pool time. I ain’t complaining. Her dad was though, having to wake up early so I could head to the gym.
The morning drive with grandma consisted mostly of giggles about how proud we were of our body changes and bitching about being hungry. Gotta keep the balance, you know. We got to the pool about 15 minutes early because she had a personal training session to do. I got in, did some lengthy stretching and enjoyed my quiet seclusion today since neither my grandma nor my new pool friend were there. Kinda glad my new friend had other plans today, so I didn’t have to tell her why I was massaging my neck with my fists between sets like a robot trying to screw the bolts back into its neck, all with one pinkie in the air like SpongeBob at a dinner party.
After class, I wanted to get some extra cardio in because of yesterday’s forced vacation. Grandma said she’d walk on the treadmill while I swam. I decided I’d pay her back for her chosen vacation on Monday and I’d stay as long as I could. I finally stopped when I was starting to feel like I could sleep right there in the water. Pool cardio: 60 minutes. Pool weight training: 75 minutes. Hundreds of crunches, jumping jacks, bicep and tricep curls, leg lifts and high knees. I lost count after like 4 or 5 reps of 50 each. I felt like a beast. Hopefully I don’t have to walk like one tomorrow because of it.
Had my epidural injection follow up appointment after that. He was pleasantly surprised by my progress. The strength in my left leg has improved tremendously along with my back pain. He congratulated me on my weight loss and improvements and told me to up my nerve pain meds on days my back is feeling worse. So next time it’s being a bully, I can double my morning dose to help me get through at least my water class every day!
Hope you guys have a great weekend and end week 6 strong! Make yourself make good choices, dodge the negativity, and smile at yourself every time you see your reflection.
