Feelin' Myself

Today flew by! One minute I’m in the pool and the next it’s 6:30 and I haven’t written my post yet! Let’s get it.
I was feeling myself this morning. So, I grabbed a nice sweater from all my clearance hauling. It was too big, but I actually loved the way it hung because of that. I walked in the gym strutting, I’m pretty sure. I stopped to take a picture and was going to pull the top off for a swimsuit shot but I just felt too damn cute, so your picture today is fully clothed. I had a great workout and even got to stay for the intermediate aqua fitness. I haven’t been able to catch her class in over a month so I was anxious to see how I held up to her arm workout that used to destroy me, I could never finish it. Well, proud to report that I beasted through it with zero strain. All reps and all her evil “baby pumps” stood no chance against my new and improved arm and shoulder muscles, even after I had done my own workout beforehand. That gave me a lot of pride.
I had to rush home to get here in time for my husband to get to work, but I just had to do that class. 100% worth the anxiety of trying to get home by 10 and skipping my meal. I started having a lot of spine pain around noon and asked my Nana to watch my daughter so I could get my husband’s lunch and then come home to take medicine and pass out. While getting lunch, I decided I wasn’t losing this afternoon again. I don’t want to sleep off pain every day. So, my happy ass came back and spent the afternoon with my Nana and Bryn playing outside and running from yellow jackets. I even carried my daughter back into the house and gave her a shower. I won over my back today, and I’m proud. I celebrate all of these little victories because each one is progress toward my goals. I also got to celebrate my friend Amanda’s victories today, but that’s her story to tell!
It’s time to start unwinding for the day so I can sleep well and do it all over again. And that’s the most important thing about my journey. Showing up somehow, some way, EVERY day. My best may be a little different every day, but I’m there and doing it. Have a wonderful evening!
