Don’t Put Toothpaste in Your Eye

What an eventful morning. I overslept today, which is rare. Of all the excuses I could use to skip working out, oversleeping is rarely ever one of them. I slept so well after my treat meal that I genuinely was still a log this morning even after waking up (NSV pic in comments of my first sleep score over 80 ever!). I didn’t want to get up and go, but I made myself do it anyway after toying with the idea of using my late wake up as my reason to not go to the gym. But I don’t like making excuses anymore. I didn’t lay out pants last night so I grabbed a pair from the suitcase I still haven’t unpacked (I think because it makes my return to reality too final) and straight out the door.

I have changed up my normal pool routine to hopefully help increase muscle gains while also decreasing the strain on my carpal tunnel from using the traditional weights. It burns my biceps and shoulders but I can still feel my hands after so I’ll take that as a sign it’s working. After 90 minutes, I hopped out and into the shower. Little known quirk about me, I hate brushing my teeth in front of other people, so I brush them in the shower. Today, I learn that toothpaste in your eye really burns. Note to self: clean the toothbrush out with the bristles down, not pointed at your face.

After showering, I dried off and then went to pat dry my hair and realized I left the conditioner in it. I had to stand there for a moment and make a crucial decision. There was no way I could get dressed without getting conditioner on my shirt so rinsing it in the sink wasn’t an option. I couldn’t step out of the shower naked to let the water warm up again. So I had to go with the painful option of turning the shower back on. That cold water slapped me like a brick. Single knob showers are not multi-session friendly. Conditioner out and dried off again, I pulled my clothes out to get dressed. “These pants feel weird.” I unfolded them and realized I brought a pair that I had taken to Disney but were too small to wear at the time. I’ve made the mistake of taking clothes that were too big to the gym, but never ones too small. Crap, crap, crap, I can’t walk out of this gym with my butt not covered!

I’m happy to report, these joggers now fit and feel amazing! Yay!! I strut my stuff out to the car. Now time to get some packages into the mail and finish up house projects. The swimsuit picture is day 1 in my 2nd polka suit and then my final day in it because it’s too big and my boobs nearly came out in the pool. No more one pieces for me, even if I feel pretty in them, so this will be my last picture in the iconic polka dots. Bittersweet moment! 🥲
